The virus is called "Bloodhound.Exploit.95", and Norton says it is a "high risk" but can't remove it. Anyone out there know what I can do about it, or should I just wait for my computer to die??

Find out the name of this virus, then type it into GOOGLE and find out weather it is rea or a hoax virus

I got one of those once called ROK_2W McAfee Internet Security said that it was a virus and that it could not remove it from my LAPTOP. I googled it and found that a 34 year old man along with work colleagues in New York, found it funny to send out thid FAKE virus.

Every time I log onto my Laptop...McAfee Internet Security still displays a screen telling me that the Virus is still there.....but according to McAfee I've had it there for 9 and a half months and nothings happened to my laptop.AT ALL!!!

Hope this helps.....

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:

If its a trojan then anti virus won't remove it; you need anti spyware and you need to run it in Safe Mode.
You may need to switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

You need all three anti spyware programs;
http://www.ewido.net - AVG(Ewido) anti trojan.
http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.
Also use Microsoft Defender and their online scans.

And these will help to prevent spyware infections in future;
And these are useful utilities;

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

When your computer is infected with a virus the best approach is to run a different virus scanner. I would suggest Trendmicro, they are offering free scan online http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
