I would make sure you have a bottle of wine and fix yourself a nice dinner. Put on some music you love, and maybe re-arrange your furniture for a nice change. Rent some good movies too, and just enjoy yourself. Top it off with a bubble bath and candles! You can enjoy yourself, even if your alone.

If you want company you can always find charities/shelters etc. who would welcome help. That way you would meet people & feel good about helping at the same time. You could also phone family & friends - maybe make contact with someone you haven't spoken to for a while. If you are content to be alone you could get out into the fresh air & blow your cobwebs away. You could review how 2006 was for you & decide how you are going to make 2007 better. Indulge yourself with a few of your favourite things. (Just keep them moral, legal & non-fattening!) Always remember that being alone doesn't mecessarily mean being lonely. Try to face 2007 with confidence. I hope it will be a great year for you.

go to the local pub and have a few beers you never know who you might meet, or volunteer to do meals on wheels or some work with the homeless charities, you could chat on line, just make an effort to do something, don't sit there and feel sorry for yourself because there will be always some one in a worse situation than yourself, go and visit the hospital take some books and magazines and kids toys etc, start the year off as you mean to go on.

are malls open on new years day? if so, i would go shopping. i would spend more money than i typically would because i deserve it.

next i would do something to make me feel like my day was super productive - i would exercise, clean my house, declutter, donate clothes to charity, pay my bills for the month online, visit family and friends i have been neglecting.

i would use the alone time to set the tone for a wonderful, organized, sucessful 2007.

enjoy your day! it will be great! SD

If youre lonely go take a job at a bar for the night, you'll get double time and meet loads of people.

If not, guess you'll be seeing it through with the tele with some c-list celebs commentating on the highlights of the year. Woohoo.

I plan on spending New Year's Day alone too. It helps if you enjoy your own company. think of something you like to do, but never got around to doing, and DO It.

Alternatively, relax.

Sleep, clean house, be thankful for the great Christmas I had. I would probably fix myself a meal that only I like. Bryan's furious wanking idea isn't bad either! Must add to my to do list!
