No. The bass player and drummer went through a long court case a few years back to get royalties that were owed to them, and Morrissey described them as " session musicians" I believe. Why would they want to reform with such a narcissistic arrogant gimp?

No. All bands and performers have a period when they are at the height of the creativity, and it doesn't last forever. You should just appreciate the great music the Smiths have made.

No way, I love The Smiths with all my heart, but they just wouldnt have 'it' today. Plus the bad blood between them all would immediately make it unsuccessful. Secretly however I have to admit I'd love to see a one off gig one day, but chances are so slim. I think they were offered millions to regroup for a one off for the lollapalooza festival last year and promptly turned it down. Shame, would have been fun. http://news.superiorpics.com/2006/03/17/MORRISSEY_TURNED_DOWN_$5_MILLION_TO_REFORM_THE_SMITHS.html

I'd love them too. But having spent the best start of the last 10 years battling eachother in court don't think its likely

No. Not for the reasons others have given here, but because what they did in the eighties was perfect. It should remain untouched!

I guess a Duranee must have happened by and given you a thumbs down.

Yes, they should. They should announce it on Monday. It would be a nice start to 2007.
