You can try salt rock salt works best but you will make soil bad for future planting. Try mixing a cup of bleach and a cup of white vineager with 2 tbl of dish soap. mix in garden sprayer. It works.

Paint thinner. Kerosene. Vinegar. Fill the crack with salt poured over the pesky plants, then trickle water on the salt to dissolve it, but not wash away.

Sure gasoline will work; but do you really want to be dumping toxic waste in your yard?
I bottle of Round-up is not that much. It's probably your most eco-friendly choice.

coffee/coffee grounds work well, and are not harmful to the environment. it is so acidic that the plants cannot survive. it takes a few treatments, but it works.
