wow, if you don't know anything about art, or even the color wheel then don't answer the question.....here is a great example of pure stupidity.
"In the color wheel we have Primary colors -Red-Green-Blue. The mix of this in the right proportion makes White.
Secondary colors or subtractive primaries Yellow-Cyan-Magenta; the mix of this produces Black." - bigonegrande
First, Complementary colors are basically opposites on the color wheel, or colors that when mixed produce brown.
The three primary colors are Red, Yellow, and Blue (not Green moron) and the Three secondary colors are Green, Violet, and Orange.
RED and GREEN are complementary colors
BLUE and ORANGE are complementary colors
YELLOW and VIOLET are complementary colors
oh and bigonegrande, I would love to see you make white from mixing red, green and blue

In the color wheel we have Primary colors -Red-Green-Blue. The mix of this in the right proportion makes White.
Secondary colors or subtractive primaries Yellow-Cyan-Magenta; the mix of this produces Black.
Now the opposite of any Primary is a Secondary color for instance: Blue opposite to Yellow; Red to Cyan; Green to Magenta, any of this two sets are called Complementary colors.

Complementary colors are opposites on the color wheel. They have two effects on each other. When you place them side by side, they appear to vibrate. When you mix them, they neutralize each other. Exact complements will make neutral gray and black when mixed.

If you are talking about color you wear on your body, than it's a color that looks good with your skin tone. Some people look better in some colors than they do in others, depending on there skin color and tone. there are books on the subject. Color me Beautiful is one. If you are talking about art than Kritika's answer is a good one.
