I'm watching The Muppets Treasure Island, and I'm just curious. I've read a lot of articles debating this, but I was rather hoping for a definate answer.

Having read some of these answers, I have to say, I AM BISEXUAL, so it wouldn't make me like him any less if he is Gay.

I don't know, I think it's a mystery, I don't think he has come out but many people do wonder about it. Well he was in Rocky Horror and he was a cross dresser, he maybe a gay icon because of that. I know that he scares the b'jesus out of me in IT (the clown) argggh I hate that film! I think he maybe gay because he is very camp!
By the way! you are only curious, what's wrong with that!! people shouldn't take things so seriously, it's a question, it doesn't mean it's going to affect the way you see him or stop you watching his films! quit the thumbs down! take a chill pill.

I don't think you're going to find a definitive answer unless you know someone that he's had a relationship with. All I can say is that according to the internet movie database, he's 60 and still lives alone with his dog, no mention of him ever being married or having a girlfriend, so it's definitely possible that he's gay.

I have friends who knew him when he performed in New York and they insist that he is. But as long as there is persecution of LGBT people, a lot of LGBT people are going to (try to) pass as straight. And being married to someone of the opposite sex does not prove that one is straight. Oscar Wilde was married and had two children. Socrates was married. A lot of famous people were married to a person of the opposite sex - often their best friend and companion - but have been having sex with someone (or many) of the same sex for years. Straight people will never fully understand what it's like to be LGBT.

Hmm, he certainly comes across as being gay. There is no definite answer - there doesn't seem to be any knowledge as to his personal relationships.
Why are people so defensive about the question....I don't understand why it seems to be offensive. "Curiosity is a sign of a vigorous intellect"....I can't remember who said that now.

He is supposed to be, according to the media hype. He's quite secretive about it but who can blame him with the crap the tabloids plaster all across the papers.
His Acting should be the only thing in question which is incredibly funny.

I don't know if he is, he is a very good actor, but I got the same barrage of anti-gay answers when I asked if George Clooney was gay.

Type his name in the yahoo entertainment search and get his biography, it might say there. I like him and always thought and still do, that he is an excellent actor no matter what his sexual preferences are.
