Contact the Inland Revenue at National Insurance Contributions, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. They will advise you how to go about paying self employed contributions. Usually you would pay by direct debit but I think you can have a bill sent (maybe every quarter). If you look on the Job Seekers web site there are links to other gov. depts. am pretty sure Newcastle is one.

the stamps were done away with about 10 years ago , you have to write to the NI contributions section in Newcastle and either pay quarterly by a sent bill or direct debit monthly

they dont issue stamps now. you register self employment with the tax office and the the NIC office becomes involved. Remember thou if you dont make more than 4500 per year profit you dont have to pay. they will tell you stuff like it could affect your pension but thats just to get money out of you.
