You'd enjoy Eric Newby, who travelled extensively throughout the world over fifty years. His books are in the library, they're not as side-splittingly funny as Bill Bryson's but they are in the same mould ... looking at the detail of life in other cuntries with a humourous eye.
Hope you enjoy them.

Not sure if it's similar to Bryson (know he's popular but not got around to him yet!) but I adored City of Falling Angels (Venice - what a fab place, like cirque du soleil crossed with the Phantom of the Opera) and Duende (travelling with flamenco troupe).

I too love Bill Bryson.
Try Tony Hawkes book, Round Ireland with a Fridge, it is so funny.

Eight Men and a Duck is quite good. Can't remember who wrote it though.

Holidays in Hell by P.J.O'Rourke.
Much funnier, much harder hitting than Bryson.

Paul Theroux is allegedly as funny, but I've never read any and I doubt the claims.
Best of luck if you do find anything please let me know.
