any old games that were played in the street around the 19.70s i lived in maryhill at the time in vernon street and we used to play chinese ropes, beds ,rounders

Yes - - My wife lived somewhere near,, Dunard St.. I was brought up (dragged up ) in Easterhouse - the girls played Beds ..and ropes, dodgy balls ...Kirby.. - everyone played Rounders.. ( back court version of Cricket ) marbles...and my favourite Looking for Lucky Midgy Bins - for Glass Cheques..(ginger bottles) ..those were the days eh! ... no Playstations or X Boxes then..

Us Paisley kids did hide 'n' seek, kick the can, hopscotch, fives (where you catch wee pyramid things on the back of your hand after throwing them up from your palm and grabbing a new one from the pavement/ground), marbles, clackers, and no doubt a hundred more that I've forgotten.

Elastics, skipping, peevers, hopscotch, kirby, british bulldogs, rounders and an old favourite - chappy lol.

Skipping, peevers, tig, bounce ball, are ones I remember seeing as I was an old 20/30 something then

we used to play chinese ropes, beds,balls (against the walls), clackers (used to hurt our wrists though),marbles,fives, and the usual hide and seek. I lived in Rutherglen.
