I hate elevators, so the shorter ride the better...I may smile, but there isn't time for a conversation!! I'll take the stairs!!!

I'm always trying to come up with conversation starters, but they all suck. Here's what I've come up with so far:
So, do you come to this elevator often?
Wow, the 68th floor...what color comforter did you get?
I hope they fixed the cable on this one.
I just stare at the floor buttons like they're really amusing.

I avoid eye contact. The last thing I want to do is make them think I want anything to do with them in such a small space. You never know, they might come on to me or try something inappropriate. You never know who's on that elevator with you.
