controlling the helicopter is often a combination of all three controls L and R to turn left and right, x and square to go up and down and pushing left or right to roll left or right. to fly forwards you need to push up on the analogue stick which tilts the nose down. obviously with the nose pointed towards the ground the helo will lose altitude so you will need to hold x so it stays at the same height. the harder you press up, the fasteryou will go, but you will lose more height.

There's five helicopters on the first island. Two are fairly close in the airport. Go through the gate to the left of the the terminal that leads onto the runway and turn left, following the fenceline. You will see a maverick helicopter that is meant for the sight seeing mission. you can fly this mission to gain a bit of skill with the helo or cancel out of the mission using the d-pad and fly around at your leisure. Further round (past the bi-plane) there is also a raised heli-pad with a sparrow helicopter. This won't begin a mission if you enter so again you can fly it at your leisure.

Further up the island, in Downtown, there's a further three helicopters, one on the police station, one behind the fire station and one on the roof of the hospital. The fire and hospital helo's begin a sub-mission when you get into them but you can cancel out if you wish.

Also on the second island on the roof of your apartment there is a 'Little willy' helicopter available to buy for $5000, as well as there being more helicopters on the roofs of the police station etc.

Hope I covered everything here
