A WEP kep is an encrypted pass code that you (or someone you paid) created when you first setup wireless security on your WAP (wireless access piny, AKA as a wireless router). It is not stamped or printed anywhere on the device or computer. to access it, you will have to enter the wireless routers setup program using your web browser, then look under the security section. It is in a different location for each brand of router, linksys, netgrear, belkin, etc. You can also refer to your routers manual that is on the cd that came with the router, which will tell you how to setup WEP. The key can be access or you can generate a new one in this section.

Sometimes it will be printed on the unit, but on most routers, you can't because it was set by you. If you lost it, the only thing you can do is get a paper clip, go to the back of your router and press the indented button in the back of it to reset it. On most routers you usually have to either press and hold it for 5 seconds, or turn the power off while holding the button down, turn the power on, and wait for the lights to flash, (usually 5 seconds or so), then let go of the button and your router will be back to factory settings.

BTW, the SIW software listed below, will only tell you the WEP key IF it's stored on your computer, if not you're out of luck.

get a comp and connect it to your router with an ethernet cable.

log in to the router by typing in the IP address in the address bar of your web browser, and then enter the username and password info when the window pops up (it's usually admin for the username and password for the password) For most routers, by default the IP address is 192.168.0.1 and should be unless you or someone else has changed it

when the access screen pops up, look for a tab that says wireless settings, and the WEP key will be there for you to see

It's on your wireless router - go to the wireless router, and look at the bar-code on the bottom of it. The WEP key is printed there.

Good luck!

download SIW from http://www.gtopala.com/siw_download.html , run it and check the "Network Information" item.
The SSID and WEP Key should be there.
