This is based on the movie and the extras on the disc
10) The fims of Kevin Smith. Not only are his movies funny as hell, but the commentary track and all the extras are worthwhile
9) The Ultimate Matrix set. The movies have never looked or sounded better. Add to this the behind the scenes and the Animatrix, and this is one set to own
8) Dazed and Confused. The Criterion Edition.
7) The 14 disc Superman set. The theatrical and director's cut of the original, the theatrical and Richard Donner cut of Superman 2 (which is great), Superman 3 and 4 Special edition, Superman Returns Special Edition, tons of behind the scenes material, and all the 1940's Superman cartoons. Need I say more?
6) The Alien Quadrilogy. Gotta check out the director's cuts of all 4 films
5) All the Pixar films. If you have a hi-def tv.....these movies will jump out at you
4) Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Criterion Edition). Wonderful movie with interesting behind the scenes footage
3) The Die Hard Trilogy. Gotta own this one just for the sound. Choose the DTS track, crank your 5.1 surround sound system (if it supports DTS) and hold on!
2) The Star Wars Saga. Another incredible use for your surround sound. Also, tons of interesting featurettes, interviews, and other behind the scenes stuff for fans.
1) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Expanded Version). Not only is each film extended by an hour or more (takes 2 discs for the movies), there is also over 9 hours of behind the scenes stuff to keep all fans riveted to the TV. I have watch every hour of every featurette (including the 2 commentary tracks by Peter Jackson and the cast running for all three movies) and they are fascinating.
