I'm having a hard time getting pregnant, my body will not ovulate (my doc even put me on hormone pills to regulate me and I still don't get a period). The only time I get my period is when I'm on BC. Is it possible for me to start BC again, skip the BC pills when I'm ovulating and pray that something will happen?

I am 27 years old, I work out regulary and am not under weight or over weight. I have two children already, I conceived my daughter by being young and not taking my BC when I was supposed to and my son I conceived when I was breast feeding my daughter. I was on the depo shot for years, but got off of it and went on pill BC 2-3 years ago. My dear hubby and I want to have another one but my body won't function normally. ARGH. I guess it is just frustrating because now we intentionaly want to have one, but it's not working!

I wouldn't. It sounds like you might need a different hormone therapy. Are you old enough for menopause? Are you dieting or excercising (especially running)? Both can cause difficulty with ovulation. Tell your doctor about your problems. She should be able to help you in a manner that is safe, both for you and your potential pregnancy.

Birth control pills work by preventing ovulation, so if you take them, you will not ovulate. You get a period while on them because it regulates the hormones in your body to trigger preparing for a baby. But, when there is no egg to get fertilized, then you have your period. The hormones in the Pill will regulate your period, but not your ovulation.
