My name - it's not that hard and it is said exactly how it is spelled. It's only 5 letters and not even that unique. Yet, people still cannot get it right. I used to dread the first day of classes because I knew that every teacher would pause before my name, and then totally mess it up. Even after correcting them for like the 10th time, people still mispronounce it.

Mischievous. Even my 6th grade teacher got it wrong when she said: miss CHEE VEE ous, which is totally WRONG!!! It's MISS chuh vous.
Only the flippin British add mystery vowels in their words like in aluminEum, for example.
Oh, if anyone wants to quibble over this, here's what Merriam Webster has to say: "A pronunciation \mis-'chE-vE-&s\ and a consequent spelling mischievious are of long standing: evidence for the spelling goes back to the 16th century. Our pronunciation files contain modern attestations ranging from dialect speakers to Herbert Hoover. But both the pronunciation and the spelling are still considered nonstandard."

Ask. When people mispronounce the word 'ask' it drives me up a wall.....there are others I'm sure, but that one is the only one I can think of at the moment.

I don't like the Labtops either, but I don't like when people (especially here in the south) say "milk" or "pencil" like there is a "r" in them. What is mirlk or a perncil?

Any word that's supposed to be spelled with a "B" but people say like a "P" like: "Egybt"(Egypt), "combutar"(computer), "banda"(panda)...etc
or the opposite :(P instead of B) like:"pright"(bright), "prain" (brain), "pird"(bird!) ..etc (it really happens!)
