I don't like to be one to complain, but as a frequent visitor of bars, I really HATE New Years eve. First, the bars are flooded with amatures who only go out two times a year...Then, most bars charge an outrageous cover charge to get in (because they know their business will be helped by the above mentioned amateurs)...and last but not least, all those damn DWI checks!!! I can't drive across town without being stopped by the police anymore!!!

I hate the fireworks.
I'm tryin to sleep and they're going off way past midnight-even as late as four AM! Also the drunks as they roll home, shouting and singing, crashing things around, daubing stuff on cars and preventing others from having peace. And why? There's nothing celebratory about the last/first day of the year really is there? Anybody would think something wonderful had happened!! It's all just an excuse for crass behavior!

I am not particularly fond of it, mostly because there are are high expectations to do something memorable, and if you fail to do so, you just feel lame. My last two New Years Eves have been really dull and I almost felt like doing nothing this year. However, some friends and I decided to go to a fondue restaurant (something different from the norm) and dress up to go there. It's nothing big, but it will be fun and somewhat low-key. Maybe that is a better plan for New Years - low-key, so the high expectations aren't there.

I hated bars on New Years Eve. I've been either having gatherings at my house or end up at a neighbors house for the past 10 years. It's better and alot less expensive to entertain at home with good friends. Plus it's safer!

I really just don't care enough to hate New Year's Eve. If I go out it is to a watch night service at Church. I Thank God for the last year and to look after me in the New Year. I like staying at home with my Family and watching the Apple fall in New York.
Hope the New Year is Good to You!

I dread these big occasion. They put pressure on you to go out, dress out, spend, be happy... I'm sorry, but if I wanna do all the above, I don't need a day that is fixed for me to act out. I wanna be myself and by myself on these occasions, and think of stuff like time passing and relationships messed up, etc... without being depressive though. And if there is a house goup that is getting together, I prefer by far meeting up with them and having drinks with people I care about than going out to a place that is rubbing me from my money to give me a good time. I can have a good time sitting with my family, away from all these crazy drunkens that are out on a night like new year's eve...

Why do you enable your self to be led by the gang? in case you journey obliged, then it somewhat is only you kowtowing to the needs of others. Be your self, and enable your self to do what you want on new 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's eve. I sit down in front of the television and turn via utilising the activities, and with somewhat of luck stay conscious long sufficient to reveal screen the ball drop! yet, if I bypass over it, no super deal. it somewhat is not in difficulty-free words like the worldwide will end revolving. Oh, yeah, i sat in anticipation of the large predicted planetary blackout new 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's eve 1999! not that i concept something would desire to ensue, purely i had to be a ingredient of the exhilaration of the 2d if my television went sparkling! Har d har. Yep, i grew to alter into in front of my television then, too. Nah, new years eve is okay. Christmas - now i'm happy it somewhat is over. It would desire to be the final demanding time of the three hundred and sixty 5 days. i don't purchase into the commercialization of it, yet there is in lots of cases the coreographing kin get-togethers and all. And the positioning visitors. And the thoroughly impolite customers. will not be waiting to bypass purchase a loaf of bread without needing dissatisfied on the customers. Why not in difficulty-free words stay homestead Monday night, slip into your jammies, sip on some bubbly, watch the activities on television, and income on the quiet time to reflect on how poor each and all of the others have been in assessment to how cool this one is.

I understand your situation, but rather than wasting time to grumble over New Year's eve, why don't you just stay home to celebrate the New Year's Eve, watching movies, with families, designing a new year resolution, et cetera?

Good luck

I do not see the point in going out to drink. either spend the time with family at home or go to a watch night at church.
