Mulan
She actually sticks up for herself and talks in the movie! (The earlier Disney movies had horrible female roles, Sleeping Beauty was in the movie for 5 mins?)
Mulan is brave, courageous, and she kicks butt! She saves the day and honours her family!

I like Ariel but I have no specific reason. My kids have deemed it necessary that we all have favorite everything: Bratz, Princesses, etc. It's a never ending battle.
