They will make two very small incisions - one near your naval and one below your bikini line. The will laparscopically(spelling?) go in and cut, tie and cauterize (maybe) your fallopian tubes. Not overly painful - you may want to lay around on the couch for a day or so and your abdomen may be a little sore for a week or so. Recovery is fairly quick and the surgery although not virtually painless is not too bad.

I was terrified too. I don't know if they will do it directly after giving birth. But the procedure was so easy. They knock you out, bloat you up with some type of "gas", make two small incisions (one thru the belly button and one near the top of the pubic area) and use a laparoscopic device to do the surgery. You go home after a few hours. You have to take it easy for a few days and can't lift. Walking helps get rid of the "gas". The pain isn't too bad and it's really worth it. And I'm a big baby when it comes to surgery and procedures!

the shrink is performed good by the tummy button. if you're going into troublesome artwork, you seriously is not allowed a tubal ligation: you should request a tubal a minimum of 30 days in improve. No respected physician will carry out a tubal ligation on a lady lower than 30 who has lower than 3 little ones without 30 days note a minimum of. Sorry yet it truly is how they're. in case you be apologetic about it afterwards, you may want to attempt to sue the physician for incorrect information and they received't take that danger. also, i extremely recommend you wait... even community anesthesia tubal calls for you to not upward thrust up and in no way raise something for no less than per week afterwards yet you actually had a toddler? that seriously is not interesting in any respect! Wait till your toddler is sufficiently previous to be babysat for some hours a minimum of and ahve someone abode with you for some days to assist look after it even as you get nicely from the operation. OR evaluate getting your husband to get snipped instead. this is more most cost effective, a lot less stressful and speedier to do and may want to be reversed a lot a lot less stressful than a lady tubal ligation. And the physician received't supply him the third degree earlier doing it! Male sterilization is often coated by insurance. lady sterilization isn't and frequently isn't totally coated.

I had mine done after having twins, number three and four in my house. I, however, had to have a c-section. The presenting twin was breech, little fart.

I really don't think it's bad after a vaginal birth though. My mother had it done that way. They don't have to cut you open to get it done. My mother had never complained about the way hers was done. I don't really know how they went about it, because it was 14 years ago now.

Anyway, I thought I would list the Wikipedia listing for tubal ligation. It might help reassure you, and put your mind at east. Take care and enjoy the new addition!

You can request the procedure after you give birth. My aunt did, at first they wanted her to come back, but she was persistent. If you make it clear that is when you want it done, I am sure they wont mind doing it after you give birth.
Good luck.
