I read the works of one philosopher named Cornell West who believed that philosophy is useless if it is not being used to help the needy and suffering of the world. Philosophy must be brought out of the institutions and philosophers must work with the impoverished and needy. They must use philosophy as a tool to find the problems with our society and come up with solutions to these problems. This is why i do not like philosophers who focus on abstract and useless subjects. I find the philosophers who analyze our modern governments and societies, like Rousseau, Dewey, and Marx, to be much more useful.
