People are different. Just because you feel they are "the one" for you...doesn't mean that the other person feels as strongly for you. That crap only happens in the movies. Girls need to get real. It doesn't happen like that in the real world, princess!

Because you have these ideas and projections on this poor person, and have "made up" that this person has all these qualities. Things "go wrong" because you are now seeing the person for who they REALLY are, not who you WISHED this person to be. Just try to love a person for who they are. If you don't, move on, but don't think you will ever find "the one". You may miss some wonderful people because of this "idea" of a person who doesn't even exist.

Because we bring all our expectations to the table, some of them unrealistic. We zero in and start chalking up the qualities we think they possess, and disregard the obvious undesirable traits.
It's not so much that "things go wrong," as much as we're forced to see reality when the truth of the situation makes an appearance. We can no longer make excuses or blind ourselves to what we'd ignored before.

I know. Whenever a guy thinks he's "got you", he stops doing all the extra nice stuff he did before. He feels like he doesn't have to work for you anymore because you're not a challenge. It's very upsetting to me.
