As others said, as long as you are being treated and stick to your meds, then you can pretty much do what you want.

The only thing I would advise is to look for jobs that are low stress and have regular hours. Sleep hygiene is very important in the management of bipolar, so avoid jobs involving shift work. Stress can trigger episodes, so try to minimise that if you can.

With medication, his mental illness should not be an issue for a job. It's not like people post adds... *Business needs help... Only 20s guys with Biopolar Disorder apply*.

If the bipolar is out of control then you need to see a doctor before even attempting to get a job... But your mental state is none of their business... legally even =)

If your stay on your medication, there is no reason you can't have any job you want. Your medical history is private and cannot be questioned in a job interview. I work with someone who is, and he does fine.
