That is not always the case. In fact I've never been to a wedding between two women where that was the case. I'm sure it happens, but that is a personal and independent decision made by the couple. And the decision varies highly from couple to couple.

Why do women chose another women to be their spouse.
The answer is the same that would be given for a man and women who wish to become a committed couple. They fall in love with one another.
