The easiest mathematical field would most likely be that of addition. It has been around the longest and is easily represented on ones hands. One may argue that subtraction is just as easy as addition, yet with out the foundation of addition one would most likely not be able to understand the concept of taking something away from something else. It is the concept of having a changing body of something that allows for the idea of the removal of an amount from that body, but the initial concept of it being a flexible body comes from addition. It is possible , however, that a person may learn subtraction first. A teacher of the kinder arts or kindergarten if you will, might choose to teach subtraction first. This concept could be considered more interesting to the children assuming the teacher were to use treat based physical representation of the integer such as 10 gummy bears. By allowing a child to eat or “subtract” a gummy bear the child observes the body/integer changing in a real world environment. However, one could argue that the child isn’t actually doing math at this stage and is merely counting the remaining gummy bears, therefore in a crude rudimentary sense counting could be considered the easiest form of math. If considering a degree, I do not believe there are degrees, doctorate or lower, in the fields of addition, subtraction, or counting.
