Hubby & I watch this show on dvd. Neither of us have been to CA, but he believes that as far as the behaviour exhibited by the characters is concerned, it's a pretty typical portrayal of people in this day and age. I think the characters yell, argue, and bicker far too much to be accurate. Who's right? P.S. Neither of us have lived in the US for over 15 years - I'm American, he is not.

"Curb" is the product of an argumentative mind, Larry David. As you can see from both this show and "Seinfeld," the other show he wrote for, David is the kind of guy who can't let even the smallest point of contention slide, so it's not surprising that his show is populated by characters who share the same trait. No, most people aren't so nitpicky or stubborn--in fact, most people anywhere will let you roll right over them. I'm not from L.A., but it strikes me that most of David's characters seem to be from New York anyway.
