I don't get angered by stereotypes but I try to prove them wrong.

I'm East Indian. What angers me the most is when people think that we're all either a) really smart and all doctors or engineers, b) stupid and the only thing we're good for is to manage stores or Kwik-E-Marts like Apu on the Simpsons, or c) forced to be chaste, forbidden to date, and that we'll all get arranged marraiges very young.
When in reality, we're obviously not all one way and can do whatever we want with our lives. And most of us DO date.
Also, people make fun of our accents, and sometimes mock us.

Well my race is human, but my ethnicity/heritage is Black.
Some people after meeting say, only one or two people of a particular ethnic group, or hearing the stereotypes reported by others, proport that it's true.

That all black strangers are muggers.We live in Hendon and everytime my 15 year old son and i are walking either alone or together, you just notice these people subtly hold their bags a little closer and tighter to themselves, and you are some times given that 'look', it is very sad and terribly annoying.No one should condescendingly tell me it is imagined, i am a black woman, i know.

the drunk thing. apparently, we Irish are leprechauns with red hair and freckles who only wear green and dance to riverdance and drink Guinness 24/7. I find it highly amusing apart from the drinking part, because it gives us a really bad image and I hate Guinness.

In our country, Chinese are stereotyped as rich and we don't know how to do chores. not all Chinese are rich and i really hate chores=)
