accidentally deleted email from friend?

I tried reconnecting with a friend. First I sent him a Christmas card saying that I was wrong for ducking out of our friendship (basically I disappeared on him). I said I did not want to reconnect. But then I found an old email address from this person and decided that I did in fact want to hear from him and see how he was doing. So I emailed him twice...hoping that the email would reach him. I think they did because I saw a response in my email. But like a fool, I deleted the email. I was afraid it was negative and I didnt want to see it (especially after the holidays I had). All of my correspondence was positive...I told him that I missed him and loved him (as a friend) and I was sorry that I ignored him for 5 years. Should I email him and ask him to resend the email?

the trash folder was emptied. the email is 100% gone.

we left things pretty bad...im afraid im asking him to resend a bad letter. however, i am still curious to read whatever he has to say. he was a good friend, and i told him that i wanted him in my life in some small way, such as exchanging christmas cards and pictures over email since I dont know where he is right now.

ask him to resend the letter, and tell him you deleted it by mistake.

If you haven't emptied your trash since you deleted the email, just pull it up from your trash folder.

did you check the trash folder? it may still be there.

if not. start with a new email and continue as if nothing happened.

yeah! Look in your trash too--unless you emptied it.
