It is a form of male genital mutilation. The foreskin (which is NOT "extra") is surgically removed from the tip of the penis, leaving the glans (head) exposed. The glans rubs against clothing, etc, causing pain, until it finally desensitizes, making sex much less pleasurable. The removed foreskin was rich in nerve endings, so that is another sexual loss. Circumcised men often are unable tp climax from normal vaginal intercourse and must masturbate to finish. The head gets less soft and moist, making sex less pleasurable for the woman as well.
This barbaric practice is religiously required for Jews and Muslims. It is also done to many newborn boys in the United States, where the practice was once thought to prevent masturbation. Uneducated parents still often think it is necessary for "hygiene," but few educated people are having their children mutilated now. The practice is uncommon in Europe, non-Muslim Asia and Africa, and Latin America. Well over 80% of the men in the world are intact, and the percentage goes up each year. It is certainly NOT necessary!
Routine infant circumcision is illegal in Sweden, and even some Jews and Muslims are refusing to butcher their sons' penises now. In a few years it will hopefully be extremely rare.

It's cutting off a part of the penis, it's done usually to babies, and done in jew/muslim countries or the US. It is wrong to do to babies and should not be done, it is errogoneous skin and it makes a difference in sex life because the skin rubs the head everytime u go in and out and the skin also retains the girls wetness everytime he pulls back and it is also a stimuli for the girl.
Many in the US have been doing it to babies for such a long time and was first introduced 100 yrs ago to cure masturbation and the ignorance evolved from there, thus they don't understand how to care for intact penis's properly. Any of the problems that could occur are rare, and it should be expected since their is no body part that is immune to any form of sickness etc, and if they do occur can easily be treated with cream or medcine not circumcsion.
The foreskin is still attatched to the head of a penis when a baby is born and doesn't naturally seaprat until 5- teens and it has to be ripped apart when cut and its' barbaric but thank God peopel are opening their eyes and is becoming less. In canada 13% are getting mutilated and in the US it's like 50-60%
and it can be cleaned easily, same way as you clean a vagina

The use of circumcision for medical or health reasons is an issue that continues to be debated. Currently, the American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend routine circumcision for newborn males. But, there is some evidence that circumcision has health benefits, including:
A decreased risk of urinary tract infections
A reduced risk of sexually transmitted diseases in men
Protection against penile cancer and a reduced risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners
Prevention of balanitis (inflammation of the glans) and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin).
Prevention of phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) and paraphimosis (the inability to return the foreskin to its original location)
Circumcision may also make it easier to keep the end of the penis clean. Although, some studies show that good hygiene can help prevent certain problems with the penis, including infections and swelling, even if the penis is not circumcised. In addition, using a condom during sex will help prevent STDs and other infections.
As with most medical procedures, there are risks associated with circumcision. These include:
Pain
Risk of bleeding and infection at the site of the circumcision
Irritation of the glans
Increased risk of meatitis (inflammation of the opening of the penis)
Risk of injury to the penis

Circumcision is the surgical removal of excess skin which covers the head of the penis when the penis is flaccid. Every man is born with foreskin and is therefore born "uncircumcized". Circumcision is NOT necessary and more and more parents are opting NOT to circumcize their sons at birth. Circumcision became a regular practice because of religious beliefs. For many years it was just done as a part of post natal care and pretty much any man in the united states born before 1980 or so is probably circumcized. But ask any guy who still has his foreskin and most will tell you they are glad they were not "cut". I wish I had my foreskin. I'll never forgive my birth hospital and the doctors for deforming me without my consent.

For males, it is the removal of the foreskin. For some religions, like Judaism, it is a tradition. Doctors nowadays have found that it is actually cleaner and can help prevent infection so it has become a regular procedure on many new born male babies. Women can also have circumcision, however I have never heard of this procedure other than in African tribes.

Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin. Yes, it is necessary for a clean and healthy penis. In many cases improves the sex life.
Now some info on circumcision, keep reading...
CIRCUMCISION IS VERY BENEFICIAL, its cleaner, healthier and several prestigious research institutions have proved that circumcised men have less risk of contracting STD's such as AIDS-HIV, syphilis or herpes.
Uncircumcised penises are difficult to keep clean, and more prone to infections and penile cancer, studies have shown.
A circumcised penis is naturally clean and virtually free from urinary infections. You will not have to worry again with careful washing of your penis.
Is it NOT true that the AAP (American Academy of Paediatrics) does not recommend circumcision. They simply say they leave the decision to parents. But recently, and specially after the recent studies by the US National Institutes of Health, the AAP has been discussing if it may be necessary to change their policy and recommend circumcision to all newborns as they used to do, so in the future we may see that the AAP advocates circumcision again.
Have a look at: http://www.baby-health.net/articles/381.html
About STD's:
As I said, several studies carried out by prestigious research bodies have proved that uncircumcised penises are more prone to infections and contraction of STD's, including AIDS-HIV. It has been confirmed that circumcised men are up to 70% less likely to be infected than those who are uncircumcised. Have a look at this site: http://www.torontodailynews.com/index.php/HealthNews/2006121404Circumcision
As for women, studies also show that circumcision also protects female partners from AIDS-HIV and other STD's. Browse this article: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/Press_releases/2006/02_08_06.html
About sensitivity of a circumcised penis:
NO medical or physiological study has ever shown that circumcision reduces sensitivity, opposed to common belief. It is completely FALSE that circumcision reduces penis sensitivity. The American Academy of Paediatrics (AAP) confirms this on their web site; have a look at: http://www.aap.org/pubed/zzzjzmemh4c.htm
Circumcision is an easy and nowadays *painless* procedure, which has many benefits, and virtually no risks.
Circumcision is NOT an amputation. Circumcision is NOT comparable at all to female circumcision, which is something completely different.
Circumcision rates are INCREASING nowadays, both in the United States and overseas. Many African, Asian and Latin American countries with little circumcision tradition are starting to promote the procedure to help to reduce the AIDS-HIV infection rates.
Finally, this site has a lot of useful and *unbiased* information. Make sure you have a good look: http://www.circinfo.net
