what's her age? 3 ounces every two hours is what newborns to maybe three or four weeks eat. At a month all of mine were eating 4 ounces in one sitting, every three to four hours.

A general rule of thumb is for babies up to 15 pounds, figure 2 - 21/2 ounces of formula per pound of body weight each 24 hour period. At 10 pounds, she should be getting around 20-25 ounces each day. However, this is just a guideline. Each baby is different with different needs. She will eat as much as she wants as often as she wants and that is OK. She will let you know when she is hungry and when she is done. If you over feed her, it will come back out when she is burped. If she isn't getting enough, she will let you know by crying before the 2 hours is up.

You forgot to mention how old she is.I agree with Joey 322 don't discuss feeding & devolopment with other Moms ect. everyone has their oppinion & it'll just going to confuse you.Ask your Dr. cause every baby progresses at their own rate.By the way 3 ounces every 2 hours sounds good if it's new born. The baby will let you know when she's hungery.Good Luck!

feed your baby when she's hungry. you can';t overfeed a baby. they know when they are hungry. so, if she's fussing and it's b/c she's hungry, then feed her!
please only discuss her feedings and weight gain with her pediatrician. i've seen so many people on here misdirect with feeding advice and it really concerns me. babies need to eat to grow and develop properly. if she doesn't get proper nutrition, then that may affect her brain and eye development, or even her body growth.
it's o.k. for adults to diet and routinely eat, but babies are often irradic (sp?) eaters and sleepers and that's o.k. b/c of how quickly they are growing and changing.
take care:)

My mother used to tell me if they are hungry then feed them. Keeps them healthy!
If she seems like she is not getting enough to eat, try putting some baby cereal in the bottle of milk. But first you should ask her doctor.
Good luck!

Feed when she's hungry, let her eat as much as she wants. As long as she's gaining weight, you are doing the right thing.
