We were attacked on 9/11. Everyone at that time prayed, went to church, and was ready to defend this country. We have not been attacked since, yet clearly half of this country can not say anything positive about what the President chose to do in retaliation of 9/11 five yrs. later. We have divided again, stoped praying, and attack anything this President does. Many act as if 9/11 never happened. What is it going to take to wake people up??

The Democrats actually supported the "War Against Terror", for a couple of months.

As soon as we have another Terrorist Attack, they will support Fighting Terrorists for a couple more months.

Then they will Surrender again.
(Never depend on Democrats to stand with you.)

OK let's start at the begining:

1. Nobody is blaming Bush for invading Afghanistan and deposing the Taliban for their refusal to hand over Bin Laden. He is after all the most wanted man, and the one responsible for 9/11

2. Sadam Husein on the other hand, although he was no symbol of democracy, was neither a threat to the USA, nor involved in any way with 9/11or Bin Laden. He was however the leader of the country with the 2nd biggest oil reserves, and that was the real motivation behind the invasion of Iraq.

3. Bush has repeatedly made a fool of himself in public, and in doing so he made a fool of the USA, when giving speeches.

4. The foreign policy of the USA under Bush has become little more than financial imperialism, and if that does not work, unilateral military action. As far as the opinion of allies or the UN is concerned, it is only relevant (according to Bush) if it concurrs with that of the USA.

5. The invasion of Iraq, and its consequences, has had a very negative impact on the progress towards a more safe and secure world.

6. Bush has absolutely no regard for anything that isn't of direct benefit to the USA. Infact he is willing to break international law to get what he wants, as he clearly illustrated in Iraq.

7. IMO Bush was merely finishing what Daddy had started in Iraq.

8.Also IMO Bush should be impeached and tried for crimes against humanity. Through his incompetence he not only turned world opinion increasingly anti American, but has also caused countless deaths and even more displacement and human suffering.

9. Bush excells in bullying american allies, in interfering in Sovereign nations that pose no threat to the USA and at inflicting terror on innocent civilians, in the name of fighting terror

Therefore, the "War" that America is in now is mostly of its own making, in electing Bush to the presidency.

The legend lives on from the Beltway on down
Of the big fake they call Richard Cheney
The man, it is said, never thinks of our dead
When the skies of November turn rainy.

With a Haliburton score - $100 billion or more
Those oilmen sure made it sound urgent
Our good soldiers would die in the blink of a lie
And the bombs of Iraqi insurgents…

Concluding the terms with some Saudi oil firms
They left fully loaded for Baghdad
But later they’d find as they left men behind
The right armor just wasn’t to be had

Freedom’s the pride of America’s side
But why are the guilty forgotten?
Our brave daughters and sons and their army of one
Are not fighting Osama Bin Ladin

As criminals go ours are bigger than most
But we’re hopeful and now there’s a reason
An untouchable man’s doing all that he can
May they all go on trial for treason!

We were lied to and called unpatriotic if we didn't support this "war".

What it boils down to is that we invaded another country, have wasted lives and considerable resources to remain there and have no clear plan or objective for the outcome. In the meantime, we've become a divided nation, have given up a lot of our rights as citizens and have lost the respect of the international community. If another nation had done what we're doing, you know we'd have something to say about this.

Yes, 9/11 happened but this war on terror? What about the terrorist in Northern Ireland? Terrorists in Somalia? Our home grown terrorists in the from of gangs (Mexican, Black, Vietnamese, White Supremacists)?

But I agree...when are people going to wake up?

Say something positive about the President? Um...he rolled up his sleeves to look like he was working when he made his visit and speech in New Orleans after Katrina.

Not workin for ya? Ok...I'll have to get back to you on that one.

If the Bushwacker does something right I will admit it, but not until he does. This is not a war! This is the USA destroying Iraq out of ignorance and greed. Going into Afghanistan was the right think to do and was at least started correctly and for good reason. If you want the American people to believe we are at war then our government should act like we are at war. This is the only "war" we have ever had where we the people are not asked to pay for it, or to sacrifice in any way except to serve up our sons and daughters to Bush as a sacrifice.

We're not fighting terrorism, buddy. If anything, our anti-terrorism groups just needed to smack bush in the face so he would read the report from the CIA and do something to prevent 9/11. We are fighting the Gulf war in Iraq today. How easy it is for people to get afraid and give up their liberties.

In order to have a War, you have to have an enemy! That means a clear defined entity in which to attack! The taliban was in Afghanistan, as was Bin Ladin! Bush pulled forces from there and attacked Iraq!
So where is this war???

I fear that it will take another attack on our soil for people to understand that we are fighting for our lives, as well as our way of life. Until we are attacked here again, our population will remain apathetic. I hope we are never attacked here, but to believe that we will not be is downright stupid.

And for the record, some of us still pray.
