Just recently ended a four year relationship and its been hard, but ex call me and said " can we still be friends", My question is, if you find it hard to talk to them or see them, can you still be friend?

you need time to get over the relationship first...or at least put enough distance to see if you want to be back together. Falling back into "old" comfortable habits is quite easy. It also really depends on why the relationship ended~sometimes walking away is the best answer. In your heart, you know what is best for you!

Because relationships involve friendships sometimes it is hard to be friends after the fact without the extra emotions following along. I dated a man for 5 years and tried to be friends but it seemed he wasn't interested so I left it alone. If you find it hard to talk to them then maybe you need to give it more time before you try to connect that bond again.

Best thing to do is not talk to them for a long time. You need to get over him, and talking to him won't help you right now. If you talk to him now, you will most likely have little flings that will only hurt you more. Go out with friends. In time, your heartake will pass. If he still wants to be friends then, go for it.

Ask him to give you time to sort out your feelings.
You need to be sure you can handle the friendship
before you say yes. You should date other people
and make a life without your ex - than if you have
more self-confidence and don't need him anymore,
you can decide whether to let your ex back in your life.

it is too hard to be friends with an ex. The onyl time you can is if you can honestly say you wouldnt have a problem if you seen them with someone else. only then can you be friends.

its goin to take time and maybe a lot to be able to see him and hang around him but there is no reason you shouldnt be friends if there is nothing horrible to keep you from doing so

its easy to be friends if you can get over the whole feelings, but as soon as you get into another relationship thats when it get hard, coz they get jealous
