When you can logically deduce that there are not monsters in your room (unless you consider yourself a monster {smile}).

But... is it a fear of monsters?... or a fear of the unknown, those dark shadows, the half open closet door... That's a different fear. Perhaps the shadows/darkness are the monsters?

I taught my children at a young age when they were showing this fear to understand that it can be your friend and used as well. I would hide in their very dark room in a shadow with them and wait till mom would pass by and not see us. This showed them that it can help them as well. I also showed them that when you are in the dark room that your eyes adjust and showed them that they can actually see very well in the dark if they try. Now they have no fear of the dark and or monsters because it is their tool to use and they have the power now.

I wouldn't call them monsters necessarily but I still freak out when strange things or noises start happening. If there are any ghost in my house I guess I'm probably pretty entertaining to 'em LOL

I'm still afraid of the dark!

I've never been afraid of "monsters," but rather am afraid of "things that go bump in the night," like ghosts or spirits!
