The only racist thing I've been subjected to was when I was told, in no unsimple terms, that I was not welcome at a wedding because of the colour of my skin. I was in the ladies, washing my hands, and a group of girls, 4 of them I think, all in early 20's, told me how this wasn't a wedding for my kind of people, and that I'm not welcome here and should leave.
Was a bit rude, and they looked really guilty when I took my place at the head table as sister in law of the groom.
Oh, and I'm white :)
I can't say it upset me anymore because it was racist. If anything, it made it a little easier, as I knew that it was nothing to do with me, it was all about their preconcieved ideas.

I've been lucky, although white, I live in one of the most multi cultural boroughs of London, and I've not experienced racism personally. But Scottishh is right, it's the people who deny its existance you've gotta worry about. As an middle aged white woman, my white contemporaries (chatting on buses, for example, not people I know) often start a conversation about "all these immigrants" expecting me to share their opinions. I used to ignore them, but these days, armed with a few statistics, I give as good as I get.
So, if you think all old white people are racists, you're wrong. And if you think that, what does that make you ? I truly believe that, with international travel, this will become less and less of an issue in the world in future centuries. Hope so.

I live in Scotland and I was followed down a street and called monkey and gorilla. It pissed me off not hurt. I think I hate it when people lie like racism is a thing that ended with slavery. There is no such thing as racism and I just need to accept that. I feel like they are peeing on me and telling me it is rain.
Or there maybe racism but you will never have to face it so dont worry about it. Lies is what hurts. Lies are a way of protecting the racism. Why protetct if you dont on some level agree with it?

I was in my local pub with the guy that i'm seeing and we were told by some guys what a shame itt was that a 'pretty white girl' was with a 'black guy'. We then got told the same thing again by an old couple who had over heard them to watch ourselves when we were walking home.
Now we live in camden, a very multi-cultural area in london, and i thought that this just didnt happen anymore. Nethertheless we wont be going back in that pub.

A Jamaican man said to me that the white race was started by a woman who had aids in Africa had a baby who turned out white and as I was the only white person in the company the other blacks thought the remark was funny.
But not as funny as when I threw a pot of gloss white paint over him which covered him from head to toe and he had to shave his curly hair to get the paint out.

Mental not physical, some white managers just look through you and the sad thing is that they are not aware they are doing so, i work with this Greek girl who is a bit dumb and not all that in the looks department but she'd be behind me and these managers'd look right past me and say hello to her everytime.

It's really not that bad, people can say what they want and I wouldn't really care, but I was called a sheep shagger, lol, it's hardly an attack but that's the worst I've had.

No Blacks
No Irish
No Dogs
I'm Irish.

I'm Asian and I was in P.E. I was new to the school so when the teacher asked us to group ourselves into teams of 5, I just went along with this group of girls who needed one more team member. Then this girl told me, right in front of my face: "We can't hang out with you coz you're not Mexican".
