Yes it would, thought cannot exist without existence. But then existence cannot exist without thought since existence is an idea brought about through thought. Quite a noggin scratcher you've come up with there. =)

i wonder...i suppose a realm of pure thought is existence, because pure thought would be the material which would consitute that realm...do you get me? if there is no physical material, then whatever there is is the material, it's just not touchable or visible, but it's still there. i am trying to picture a realm of pure thought, but it's impossible because there isn't anything to picture.

Not according to Buddhist teachings, the realm of thought (or mind) would be non existence, the realm of the unborn and undying. Free from the causes of Samsara (suffering), existence itself.
Existence and non existence are two sides of the same coin.
Without non- existence how would you know what existence is? and without existence how could you imagine non-existence?

No, we need oxygen to breathe and the earth to live on. Realm of pure thought, very aesthetic. The sad fact is it does not constitute existence

Existence in your sense can be pure thought, think back before God created the universe. Though God isn't just pure thought, He is a conscious Being, with all the qualities of personhood.

Existence is separate from the universe, otherwise the universe could never have come into existence.

depends what meaning u give to the word existance

the entire univers is made of energy and void
all forms of existance we know are made of energy

no energy no existance

the material universe is just an illusion based on our sences

TO COIN A PHRASE, ''I think therefore i am'', the question is broken down thus, a material universe needs exsistance or how would we know of its exsistance.
if we as humans exsisted in a realm of pure thought then we would exsist as a life entity the plane of our exsistance would be our universe. non exsistance is in our realm is death, we may aspire to a collective universal conciousness upon the event of our non exsistance. or we may no longer cease to exsist, ergo ''you cease to think therfore you cease to exsist''. regards LF
