Because we still have an electoral college. He didn't get the most popular votes, but (assuming there really was no underhanded tampering in Ohio and Florida), he did get the most electoral votes. I'd love to see the electoral college done away with--but it can't be done retroactively.

because of the Electoral College process...it's not necessarily having the most votes by population...it's where the most people voted in a certain region to carry a vote in the House and Senate...
