Research setting up a FTP.. It allows users that have the password and username you set to access your FTP on your computer..

so baiscly you want people to download a certain file etc etc well you know if you googled free hosting theres tons of sites that will host certain mb's files for free :) what most people do

its free just upload the file you want or as many as you want just dont go over the free limit they give you and then use the link of whatever domain you picked and give it out and other people can download it st8 from the link itself :)

Well, you don,t say what kind of file.
For photos, you could set up a free http://photobucket.com/ account.
Small movies, software, etc you could upload to somewhere like
http://www.megaupload.com/, once it finishes uploading,
it will give you a link, to send friends, I think the limit is 300MB.
