Some would suggest the mere fact that the organization exists is a racist act.
This is an organization devoted to helping, mainly, black Americans.
If the NAAWP (National Association for the Advancement of White People) were formed, I'm sure there would be an outcry of overt racism.

However, since racism against black Americans is still prevalent in America, I believe the organization to be a positive influence in America and it brings to the forefront governmental laws and acts that are negative to black people in America, as well as businesses and schools that continue to propagate negative practices.

Certain colleges are no longer allowed to host NCAA championship games because they still display the confederate battle flag at the colleges or other governmental institutions.

Quite frankly, I'm not comfortable with terms such as African American or White American or Hispanic American. The terms are nonsensical at best and actually, in my humble opinion, derogatory and anti-social at worst.
We are Americans, plain and simple.
Black Americans are so far removed from Africa to make the term African American a mockery.
Why am I not called a European American or Scottish American. My heritage is no less significant than any others.
However, I would fight any change of terms in that direction.
I identify myself with the nation I was born into and that is America.
If you want to strongly identify yourself with another nation, then by all means move there. Don't ge me wrong, I'm not talking about a love-it-or-leave-it mentality. There are many things I don't like about our country, but I wouldn't want to live anyplace else.
