The fact that the day and month are reversed on the date should be your biggest clue. As well as the pound listing for money
The only do that overseas (Germany, for example).

Yahoo is not overseas, it is based in California.

This is a scam, pure and simple. Won a contest you never entered?.....Yeah, right!! No legitimate contest will require you to pay money up front to collect winnings.
Email them back and tell them to deduct any fees from your winnings and send the remainder to you.

Send your money you will never see a check from anyone. Call Yahoo I'm sure they will tell you this is just a variation of several scams that are going on right now.
Remember the old adage, " If is too good to be true, it's not true".
