My employer designated parking spots adjacent to covered walkway just for the women in our office. No men were given parking places. I feel that is wrong because I wouldn't want to be treated differently than anyone else at work or anywhere. I don't really care if I park close or not; I just question the fairness of it.

The parking area is safe at all times with security and security fence and totally lighted. There are no dangers and convenience to covered walkway so if it is raining you can get out of the rain. Convenience, and that is all.

My opinion hinges on what sort of "dress code" your employer has in place. If women have to wear heels then I would say that they sort of deserve the closer spots because it's less dangerous. Heels are at best diffiuclt to walk in as it is, but on pavement can be worse, especially if one is running a bit late and needs to walk at a fairly swift pace. If while doing so a heal lands on a pebble it can cause a woman to sprain or even break an ankle getting into work. Many woman have eliminated this problem by wearing sneakers to work and changing shoes once inside the office. If shoe wear has nothing to do with it and it is simply because they're females then yeah you're right it's not fair...so go tell your employer how you feel...see if he thinks giving you severance pay is fair.

Thats not fair and you should she how others in the office feel about it, including the women. Talk to your boss about it as a group or in a group. Just make sure you are not the only on the voice your opinion. That could lead to rocky waters and you certainly don't want that at your place of employment with your boss! :-)

I think it is for safety reasons. Women are more l likely to be in danger from strangers than men will. Look at it this way, those women will probably get fat from not walking far. You on the other hand will have a good heart condition and be more fit.

Do you work in a crime area? otherwise
it is really unfair.
Is your employer a woman or a man? The early bird to the office should always have first pick of parking spots.
IMO

I would like to think that if you had a choice that you really would offer the close parking places to the Lady's.

Well I think that if women want things to be equal then they should have to meet the same standards as men do (say in the police academy or the military). So no, it's not right.
Now as a woman who knows that God created men and women differently, I'd say "great! thanks!" LOL
