Open a case with Microsoft. Modifying the AD schema is not to be taken lightly.

I consider myself to have an advanced knowledge of AD as part of a team that manages a large multi-domain AD infrastructure with over 45,000 objects but I wouldn't even dream of editing the schema without explicit guidance from Microsoft. (I'd be fired if I did.)

At the very least you need to replicate your production environment in a lab to test any changes and look for any unexpected results. If you open a case with Microsoft they may require you to do this before they will support the changes in your production environment.
