Our country will be ready for anything. It is not supposed to be a popularity contest. Having said that, if a person was an open and practicing lesbian , they would not have a chance to be elected in a majority Christian country. If they keep their personnel life behind closed doors, they could pull it off.

Is Hillary a lesbian? If so, then I do not blame Clinton for Monica. As to your question, the answer is no. America is not even ready for a female president, let alone a lesbian one.

Not yet. Let's get used to a woman President first. Having said that, the UK government has quite a few homosexuals. It is very likely that the next Prime Minister will be homosexual and no one seems to be very concerned about that.
Give it a few election cycles and I don't think it will be an issue in the USA either.

America is not ready for a LGBT (from here on out I will refer to as gay) pres because people who are gay are considered far to radical. Their lifestiles deviate so far from peoples percieved norms that many people would consider the person to radical to accuratly represent the conserns of most people.
Unfortunatly common perecptions come into play in an area that should be reserved for the person best fit for the job

unfortunately it's not ready for a female president, so i don't think it is for a lesbian one. there still are lots of narrow-minded people in america.
