I've personally used two methods since my son was born 6 1/2 years ago: the Depo Provera injection and the 5 year Mirena IUD. Depo is great. It's a shot every 3 months and it usually causes women to not get their period. I gained a lot of weight with it and that's why I switched to the IUD. The IUD is implanted and can last 5 years or another one lasts 10. Then you don't have to worry about it. However, I would recommend getting it changed a few months before the 5 years is up because the hormones run out. Mine was due to expire in February and changed in January at my yearly check up, but I found out three weeks ago that I'm pregnant. Just a warning, but other than that, they work great.

usual, i think of you meet the standards for paying for engaged at a youthful age. in case you have a good financial plan that works with your tutorial objectives, and you have the two shown you could stay independently and help yourselves, those are the biggies in terms of "useful" concerns. a pair of issues, nonetheless. First, engagement isn't taking your courting to the subsequent point. whilst a pair gets engaged, they are extremely telling the worldwide they are waiting NOW to take this vast step, and additionally that they are making plans their wedding ceremony/placing a date. You did no longer point out something approximately how long you're questioning the engagement could be, yet once you're no longer making plans to marry in the subsequent 12-18 months, then human beings will ask your self what the factor of the engagement is. And this is a good question. So make certain you're at that factor. the different suggestion I even have is to renounce fixating lots on 4.5 years of courting. You have been extremely youngsters whilst this began, and (with any luck) neither of you is an analogous individual you have been at age 15. and you nonetheless have greater starting to be to do before you adjust into completely person. So once you communicate on your dad or others, this area sounds immature. concentration instead on the sensible areas the place you're waiting to take this step, with the aid of fact maximum fathers will assume you like one yet another. That area does not ought to be reported. Your dad's concerns would be approximately different issues, especially financial and the type you're dealt with.

Don't have sex (only joking). All contraceptive devices/pills have their risks but some are safer than others. Do some reading & ask your health care professional lots of questions. The birth control pill (if taken correctly) or subcutaneous implants are thought to be 99% full proof. Good luck!

Mirena IUD. Lasts five years, has the birth control hormone in it and has been said to be as effective as a tubal ligation.
