I have been training as a hotel desk clerk now for about 2 months. I am finally working by myself. I feel like I can handle it, but an older lady, who has been here for a while (who has nothing to do with my department) keeps trying to call in people on their days off to come in and help me. It is kinda embarrassing and offensive in a way, but i do not want to be disrespectful to a lady who has been here over 30 years. But I feel like I can handle the shifts by myself and the other co workers know it. Is this kind of offensive?

Some business owners do that. I've had that problem a couple times, but training for 2 months!? Thats a bit long I think. Maybe you can mention to her that you think you have learned everything she can help you with and at this point the best way for you to improve is to do some things yourself and get "hands on" experience.

I wouldn't take her watching over you as an insult though. If she has been there 30 years, it probably means that she does everything just-so and is a bit OCD about it... Not because she thinks you are doing it wrong, but she wants to check it out and see if you are keeping all the eggs in the basket they way she likes them. =)

If it is bothering you.. say something though... You can't be happy at a job if you are being made to feel inadequet, or insulted. Who knows, if you stand up to her (not harshly but say what you think!) she might start viewing you more of an equal and give you more space. =)

Respect her because she has been there for 30 years. The next time you have a second, speak with your boss about it, or if she's your boss, maybe you just need to be up front with her. Communication is so important in a job! Tell her you can handle the job by yourself and thank her for all of her help. Never say or do anything that you could regret later. Good luck!
