My friend did this and it started a argument and a fight broke out. One woman got her nose broken and a man was hit over the head with a chair. My friend was just wondering if it was his fault?

I'll just add that the fight started over the rules argument not over the safety aspect!!!

Is there a clear cut rule on how far you can be behind the oche? Not that I of, but most of the customs in darts say that you stand at the oche when you throw. Otherwise folks might think that you are making a joke of the whole game, and may become upset.

In the end I think it's unsafe and poor sportsmanship.

Is it his fault that a fight broke out? I don't know. Did he participated in the argument, and incite the bad feelings that led to the fight? If so he should share part of the blame. However if people can't resolve their differences without fighting then they only have themselves to blame.

Is this a serious question? I take it to mean can you stand as far away behind the oche as you like before throwing? In the rules, yes but in a pub..where there may be people between you at the bar and the board.Well-er-no!!..Did 'nt he have any common sense?..was he pi**ed? In our pub it would have been HIM with a broken nose and a chair as a necklace...of course it was his fault....DUH!!!
