I am a commerce student of class 12. I will give my ISC examination in 2007. I want to become a software enggineer. So please tell me what should I take up to study in college. Also do I have to give any entrance examination and what will it be?
Please help, I am totally confused.
Tell me if you really have got any idea about it!

if u r commerece student then u cant do directly from college , but u can do throght institute , and if u want to do throght college leave commerece joined diploma after diploma do B.E.

Like the persons above said it is advisable to join an institute like NIIT for a full fledged course. I think you should only think of a software job if you have a craze for technology. I would advice you not to go for software job just because you read a lot about software professionals getting paid nicely. You can even look for C.A or M.B.A which is a great course but at the end of the day the decision has to be taken by you so all the best for the exam and your carrear.

Why are you predetermined to be a software engineer? Specially when you are in Commerce discipline? You can't go for Joint entrance exam directly for engineering if you don't have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. So try for BBA, MBA or CA or CS.

FOR SOFTWARE ENGG.ENQUIRE FROM NIIT AND JETKING.BASICALLY IF YOU WANT TO DO COMPUTER ENGG.YOU NEED TO PASS 10 +2 IN PHYSICS,CHEMISTRY AND MATHS WITH AT LEAST 50%MARKS.THEN YOU MAY APPEAR FOR ENTRANCE EXAM.FOR IIT'S YOU NEED TO PASS IITJEE.FOR ROORKEE,BITS PILANI ETC.RESPECTIVE ENTRANCE TESTS.YOU MUST BE GOOD IN MATHS AND LOGICAL REASONING.KNOWLEDGE OF PHYSICS TOO IS ESSENTIAL.FOR ABROAD,GRE.SEARCH ON GOOGLE,MSN,YAHOO.
