Sometimes I feel like they only want war when it's to protect the interests of rich Americans and corporations. I think the whole "fighting to preserve freedom and liberate people" thing is all an excuse and that they don't really care.

Of course they care about people who are not white and rich, just as long as they have oil.

Your question spawns a whole range of new questions required to quantify your belief.

1) What is your socio-economic state (poor, middle class, rich)?
2) Is your economic status directly related to any government intervention either on your behalf, or against your interests?
3) Have you ever received any form of government assistance (food stamps, housing, welfare payments, school loans)?
4) In exactly what way is the government acting against your interests while supporting the interests of others?

The government exists to legislate for the country. It is not and was not designed to be Mother for all of it's citizens. The best model exists when the government is less intrusive into people's lives. History has shown time and again that when government takes a large active role that people suffer more as a result. Your goal should be self sufficiency in all things, if you achieve these goals the government's role in your liFe will be diminished almost to the point of invisibility.

As to foreign affairs. It is the job of government to act in the best interest of the people. Fighting terrorism and securing the free flow of oil are in these best interests whether you choose to believe it or not. If as a consequences oppressed people are liberated then this should be considered as an added bonus.

I don't think it has much to do with race. I'm white, and spent most of my adult life as lower middle class with no assistance whatsoever. Yes, I was self-sufficient, but wouldn't have remained that way. I did not earn enough to have a retirement plan. People never think about that. If you are supporting yourself on 25 - 30K and trying to further your education, you are not amassing any worthwhile savings. The job you have likely does not have a pension plan or company paid health care. I got a very lucky break and am now investor class. I think there are huge numbers of hard working people in this country with bleak futures. The gov't. wants to cut social security. What do they think will happen in the future? As far as race, I've seen plenty of non-white foreign graduate students with free tuition. So the gov't. does things, just not always in every area where it's needed.

Why does it have to be a racial thing? Have you not seem MTV Cribs? It has always been about money and will continue to always be about money. But its not a white thing. Its a who wants it more kind of thing. You can be any color and be rich or poor. Stop using the race card, its played out!

Eddie, President Bush has contributed more money to Africa than any other president. His money is earmarked to fight malaria, AIDS, and other diseases that inflict the continent. I would hardly characterize Africa as a land of rich white folk.

It is easy to feel that way you are struggling to make ends meet. the truth is far from what you portray. The United States of America gives billions and billions of dollars every year to poor countries. The government of these countries are the ones that squander the monies from their own people. In this country you have to make it on your own to succeed, the government lends a hand , but not a handout.

I think you're oblivious to the fact that it's in the interest of all Americans to promote democracy and the corporations are the employers who, by providing jobs, put food on your table and put your children through school. Your very statements display your blatent racist beliefs. Your arguments are unsupportable.

Need I remind you of the weapons of mass destruction conspiracy that led to invasion of Iraq? Or should I refer you to who got lucrative contracts to "rebuild" America-induced ungovernable Baghdad?
