Link knows how to howl as a wolf automatically. You howl at certain statues to trigger certain events. Most of the time, it iwll be to get a new sword technique.

If you didn't do the one at death mountain, don't worry. After you get the master sword, you can change into a wolf at will, so you can go back and do it.
