Get a clear stud that isn't too big and you should be fine.
Keep in mind though at some point your mom is going to find out. You are only delaying the inevitable.

Are your fingers pierced, too? Is that why you have trouble typing complete words spelled correctly? I'm asking because an improperly pierced tongue can cause speech impediments, so I'm thinking maybe improperly pierced fingers cause typing impediments. Seriously, though....I'm not sure I understand why your mom approves of belly piercings but not tongue piercings. You might ask her. Politely and respectfully, of course. Maybe an intelligent discussion of the issue would cause her to change her mind, and then you wouldn't have to hide it from her. Moms have a way of finding out things no matter how well you try to hide it from them, and then we get upset because our kids tried to hide things from us. :)

A) please, for the love of all that is human, learn how to type properly. I don't care if "all your friends do it" or if you think it's somehow "cool". It's definitely not "cool". It just shows to the rest of the world that you're a dumb ***. Dumb asses, in my opinion, shouldn't be eligible for body art (this includes tongue piercings...).
As far as hiding it from your parents goes, I say don't. Tell them that you want it done, tell them you're paying for it and hopefully you don't need their signature for consent. See, I'm 16, and in Ottawa, Canada it's legal to get a piercing without parental consent at 16 years of age. If you do need their consent and they won't let you get it done, you'll have to wait. In the mean time, why not work on your horrible typing, spelling, and grammar skills.
Kay thanks.

There is no possible way to hide a tongue piercing.
Every time you talk there is going to be evidence of that ball.
If your tongue swells there will be even more evidence for her to see.
Think about it.

The only way you are going to hide it is not wear an earring in your tongue.
