I seriously doubt that you actually know the definition of Fascist.

Anyone who uses the terms like Islamic-fascists (including and especially the ill-educated American president), does not know what they are talking about.

On the other hand, many conservatives, particularly American religious conservatives, agree with many of the tenets of fascism and would support America being more fascist.

Here is a commonly used of characteristics (that can be found in any number of sources) used to define fascism:

•Powerful and Continuing Nationalism
•Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
•Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
•Supremacy of the Military
•Rampant Sexism
•Controlled Mass Media
•Obsession with National Security
•Religion and Government are Intertwined
•Corporate Power is Protected
•Labor Power is Suppressed
•Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
•Obsession with Crime and Punishment
•Rampant Cronyism and Corruption
•Fraudulent Elections

If you were to poll right-wing Christians on each of the traits, individually, that define fascism, most would probably agree that the majority of the concepts are good and Godly things that America needs more of.

You really don't understand your own post, do you?

The fact that conservatives have misused the term when describing Arab nations should be the only story, but since they brought it up - and you have again - your own cut-and-pasted definitions, etc., suggest that conservative republicans and christians are the most fascist-leaning Americans.

You are listening to, and learning from, idiots. Before you fault the research of others, try doing a little research of your own - and try using your own brain.

America is a democratic republic, not a democracy (read the Constitution). Can you name one fascist government? I didn't think so.

I agree, America is fast becoming Fascist; look at the two nations we have invaded. Why? Because of the oil interests that control the govt. Because the military-industrial complex that Ike warned against has taken over this country. Because this complex of military wants to establish bases all over the mid-east, as they believe they control the world with their World Bank and IMF> These men, the neo-cons of Rep. party along with the tacit cooperation of the dems, are fascists; they believe in sheer power over the people. When was the last time you tried to put somebody on the Presidential primary who was not approved of by the head honchos. Wake up America, Arnold, gov. of California IS a Nazi, he was put in office by the power and financial elite of the world. Buffet, the 2nd wealthiest man in the world, was his finacnial advisor. I mean come on, they want to control the [population by keeping us unemployed and hanging out on the street corners. And so on and so forth. The so-called leaders of this world are man-eaters and Geo. W.Bush will destroy the world if we let him. Just the facts, man. (By the way, where are the WMD that they lied to us about?)

If you want to see evidence of American fascism, do some research on the USA PATRIOT Act and the Military Commissions Act of 2006, then get back to me.

If you think that the elections actually mean a thing, then I'm sorry, but you're just beyond repair. To echo George Carlin, the politicians are put there to give you the illusion that you have freedom of choice. You don't.

Because America is NOT a fascist state --- we are a Democratically Elected Republic. It is the Constitution , which has been around for over 200 years, which guides our country and not Fascism!!!

If that is your way of thinking no matter how wrong it may be you are entitled to your opinion. But look on the bright side YOU get to pick your fascist leader every four years (kinda defeats the purpose of fascism, doesn't it?)

You couldn't be more wrong and I only wish you had an opportunity to spend some time under a fascist government. You'd be begging to come back. This is a democracy.

And all this time I thought it was a country of states. Go figure. I see a lot of fatazzes but not too many facists running our government. Or did you mean fanticism that would be the far left liberals.
