On PS I read them only after answering.
But in places where people ask for information or advice, I'll check first what others have written. Then I'll know if the question has been answered already or if I have anything to add.

I answer the best I can then I read what others said. If I read first then it will influence the way I answer....so I believe that answering first will guarantee a more original answer :)

sometimes it depends on the question, if I go back and read, sometimes I will for curiosities sake. And there are other reasons too, to look at others answers, opinions, sometimes its as simple as how much coffee Ive had and what direction I'm facing, I could always go by the reflection in my glasses but its difficult to type behind the back, well, it is for me. lets see who really reads.
