was my advice wrong part 2?

I recently advised a pal going through some problems, that his wishy washy attitude was why he didn’t have much luck with the opposite sex, I said he should have a fight fire with fire approach, the next day he was promptly sacked from the fire brigade for taking me literally do you think my advice was wrong?
